Dear Family, Friends, and Followers,
Joyous 12th Night! Sorry it’s been over eight months since Kathleen left us. I’m having a more difficult time adjusting to the new reality than I had anticipated. Hopefully all of you are doing well.
Encouraging news from Kage and Kathleen’s agency. Beginning right around now, they are in the process of acquiring all of the rights to Kage’s backlist at Tor. They plan on placing that with a new publisher for ebook and print rights – they have at least two major ebook publishers they work with regularly. That would include the publishing, new covers ( nothing could beat the original cover to Sky Coyote!), and publicity, which Tor didn’t seem to consider very important. The agency also plans to place the audiobook rights. Huzzah!
So, whilst we wait for good news, I would suggest reading, or re-reading some of Kage’s work. Consider The Hotel Under the Sand. It is a charming YA about terrifying loss, ongoing courage and hope, and ultimate success. If you ( or your library) don’t have a copy, it’s available from Amazon. All comments will be cheerfully received.
I must return now to Kate’s Zombie story. Wish me luck!

It’s good to hear your voice, Kimberly. I agree – loved! the original Sky Coyote cover art.

That is excellent news that the Kage Baker’s Work will be republished! Also, if you are in the Los Angeles area, I hope you are safely away from the current firestorm.
Seeing the damage on the news, I thought about the story ‘Son Observe the Time’ where the operatives save so much art from the San Francisco earthquake, and hoped someone did the same thing now!
